            Amy Hanratty

 

Attended the University of Toledo where she studied Musical Theatre Performance and Public Administration. She holds both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts Degree. Amy also studied classically under Dr. David Bowe, Dean of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music and Opera under Linda Rondelli, Italy.

Amy has directed shows as well as performed many principal roles in Musical Theatre and Opera. Favorites roles include: "Sound of Music"; Maria, "Oklahoma"; Aunt Eller, and "Sister Angelica"; Sister Angelica. Favorite show she has directed, "White Christmas". She has worked with award winning Broadway professionals as Vocal Coach and Faculty for "This Way To Broadway"- Producer: Thommie Retter (Billy Elliot) and has worked with Michael Rafter, award winning Broadway Music Director, (Thoroughly Modern Millie, Little Women, Jersey Boys, and Violet). Currently, Amy is the Audition Assistant for "Destination Broadway", NYC with Tiffany Haas (Wicked).

Amy was The Lorain International Queen, Miss Lorain County, finalist in Miss Ohio/America Pageant and currently is a Miss Ohio/America Preliminary Pageant Judge. In addition, she has performed the National Anthem for many professional sports organizations including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians and Lake Erie Monsters.

 

Amy's passion for teaching and coaching has allowed her to motivate and support clients of all ages in fulfillment of their performance goals. Amy is a highly sought after Master Teacher in all aspects of Vocal & Acting performance. She also provides pageant coaching, and talent and technique assessments. She has conducted training and intensives nationwide in both Vocal and Acting disciplines. Specialty areas include: Vocal Development, Surviving THE Vocal Change, Combined/Mixed Voice Technique, Breathing Techniques, Eleforte Technique, Audition Workshops, Monologue Development, Commercials, Voice-Over Acting, VO Script and Commercial writing. Specializing in vocal improvement techniques and vocal therapy for both the singer and actor.

As the Founder and Artistic Director of "Voice Variations LLC" for over 20 years, Amy has instructed and directed vocal and acting development, technique and critique for students, theaters and organizations throughout the United States.  She hosts many Broadway Master Classes for Broadway actors, conducts  classes, workshops, and supports her clients through V.V. Talent Management where she assists and manages clients age 8 to 88 in support of their goals.

She is also a member of the The National Association for Music Education. Amy also has 25 years of professional experience working in the areas of career and college planning, where she has motivated students to succeed both academically and in their career aspirations. Amy has mastered the art of engaging, educating, motivating and entertaining, while effectively teaching the importance of recognizing individual talents, developing skills and finding ways to help others enjoy the arts.
